  44. DETAILS OF RESOLUTION
  45.  
  46. 1. Analyze the hardware in the computer and determine an unused
  47. com port; i.e., com1, com2, etc.
  48.  
  49. 2. Determine an unused IRQ level; i.e., IRQ3, IRQ4, IRQ5, etc.
  50.  
  51. 3. Set the appropriate switch settings on the TYIN2000 circuit
  52. card.
  53.  
  54. 4. *** DO NOT INSTALL THE CARD AT THIS TIME.

  58. 5. Use the Migrate utility (that comes with OS/2 2.1) to migrate
  59. the Program Manager to the OS/2 desktop.
  60.  
  61. 6. With the mouse button 2 click on the icon and select DOS
  62. settings from the dialog box. A DOS Settings Notebook will be
  63. displayed.
  64.  
  65. 7. Select the session tab on the Notebook.
  66.  
  67. 8. Activate the Win-OS/2 button and then select the following

  94. 9. Save then select the General tab, in the name field enter
  95. TYIN.BAT. Exit Notebook.

  97. 10. Open an OS/2 prompt and type EPM c:\config.sys at the c:\
  98. prompt.

  100. 11. Scroll down to "DEVICE = C:\OS2\COM.SYS.
  101.  
  102. 12. Refer to page 378 of " Using the Operating System Manual",
  103. and enter the appropriate parameters for the hardware selections
  104. made earlier.

  106. 13. Start the program manager Icon.

  108. 14. From the Program Manager File Menu, select Run. Insert the
  109. TYIN2000 installation disk 1 of 2. and type "x:\install", where
  110. x = the drive being used. Hit enter and follow the installation
  111. prompts provided by the TYIN2000 software.

  113. 15. Allow the installation program to update the AUTOEXEC.BAT.
  114.  
  115. 16. For FAX MGR options setup see the TYIN2000 "Getting Started"
  116. booklet.

  118. 17. From the file manager rename the AUTOEXEC.BAT file to
  119. TYIN.BAT.
  120.  
  121. 18. Rename the AUTOEXEC.BAK to AUTOEXEC.BAT.

  123. 19. Using an editor, open the TYIN.BAT file and remark out all
  124. statements except:

  128.     "TYINLD.BAT"

  132. 20. Change directory to x:\TYIN and open the file TYINLD.BAT
  133. with an editor. Locate the line 
  134.  
  135.    " @C:\TYIN\LOADTYIN C:|TYIN\tyin.bin COMx IRQx 240"

  139. 21. Replace the COMx with the com port selected on the card,
  140. i.e.; COM3.
  141.  
  142. 22. Replace the IRQx with the IRQ level selected earlier; i.e.,
  143. COM3.

  145. 23. Save file and exit the editor. Shut down OS/2.

  147. 24. Power off computer (remove plug from power) and observe safe
  148. ESD procedures.

  152. 25. Carefully install the TYIN2000 card in an empty slot (use a
  153. 16 bit slot ).

  155. 26. Start computer. Start Tyin Icon. TYIN is now ready to use.
