- READ ENTIRE FAX AND USE THE SOLUTION FOR YOUR SYMPTON

- SYMPTONS:
-
- 1) If you forgot your OS/2 Lockup password
-
- 2) Your password is not being recognized
-
- 3) Unable to exit from lockup or you are in loop
-
-
-
- SOLUTION:
-
- 1) Do a shutdown from the desktop menu, or POWER OFF (if you
- are unable to do a proper shutdown), or press and hold down,
- CTRL + ALT, and press DEL with the Installation Diskette in
- the bootable drive.
-
- 2) Put diskette #1 in drive when prompted and press <enter>.
-
- 3) When the WELCOME screen appears, press ESC to cancel.
-
- 4) At this point you should be at a A: Prompt
-
- 5) At A: command prompt type "X:" <enter>
- where X: is where OS/2 resides, C:, D:, etc)
-
- 6) Type, "CD \OS2" <enter>.
-
- 7) Type "ATTRIB OS2.INI -R" <enter>.
-
- 8) Type "MAKEINI OS2.INI LOCK.RC" <enter>.
-
- 9) Type "ATTRIB OS2.INI +R" <enter>.
-
- 10) WHEN you see MAKEINI SUCCESSFUL, take diskette out of the
- drive and reboot the machine.
-
- You should now be able to reset the password. If you have any
- problems with this procedure contact 1-800-992-4777.

- SYMPTONS:
-
- 1) If your lockup automatically locks up and you don't want it
- to automatically lockup
-
- 2) If you want to change or adjust settings for lockup
-

- SOLUTION:
-
- 1) Go to desktop and click on blank space of desktop with right
- mouse button and desktop pop-up menu will display
-
- 2) Click on the arrow in open --> with left mouse button and it
- will display the settings
-
- 3) Click on LOCKUP tab with left mouse button and it will display
- the settings for lockup
-
- 4) **If you do NOT want automatic lockup enabled, click with left
- mouse button, have bullet in NO AUTOMATIC LOCKUP
-
- **If you want to change or enable another settings, click
- with left mouse button, and enable the one you want.
-
- **If you want to change the timeout, click on the right side
- arrow and adjust the minutes to your choice.
-
- 5) Double click on the little icon in the upper left hand corner
- to close the notebook.
