  3. TITLE: PRINTING UNDER NETWARE LAN IN OS/2 2.X

  9. 1)  Go into printer settings - QUEUE OPTIONS and make sure
  10.     PRINTER SPECIFIC FORMAT being enabled.  
  11.     NOVELL does not understand Metafiles.
  12.

  14. 2)  If the print jobs are not making it to the server queue try
  15.     the following (assumes knowledge of NOVELL utilities):

  17.     A)  Enter PCONSOLE and attempt to print your local
  18.         CONFIG.SYS. If this fails, the problem is with the
  19.         NOVELL Setup. Please refer to Novell's problem 
  20.         determination manuals.

  22.     B)  Use CAPTURE /SH to see if you have captured the port and
  23.         that you have named the queue correct on the capture
  24.         command. Verify output settings on icon and the capture 
  25.         settings are at the same port. This is for Local Print Icons.

  27.     B)  If on a network print icon make sure that you are using
  28.         the correct resource and LAN name (see your LAN administrator).

  31. 3)  Also if you get SYS0059 error when opening network print
  32.     icon settings you need APAR PJ10160. Please call in and request
  33.     this APAR (OS/2 2.1 only).

  35.     It is a possible solution to the error.

  38. 4)  If printing from WINOS2 Application make sure that in the
  39.     setup icon under main you have NO NETWORK INSTALLED selected.
  40.     Also, output should be to LPTx.OS2 not just LPTx, disable FAST PRINT DIRECT TO PORT in
  41.     the CONTROL PANEL under PRINTERS under the CONNECT button,
  42.     and you should enable the WINOS2  PRINT MANAGER.
