  12. The following S3 Corporation Chip Sets and Video Device Drivers
  13. are supported and should be selected during installation:

  15.      Chip Sets:            S3 86C801, 86C805, 86C928
  16.      Video Device Drivers: S3 86C801, 86C805, 86C928

  18.      Chip Set:             S3 86C864
  19.      Video Device Driver:  S3 864

  22. S3 964 Video Chipset Problems with OS/2 WARP.

  25. SYMPTOMS:
  26.      Unable to install high resolution with OS/2 WARP on a
  27.      system with S3 964 video chipset.
  28.  
  29. RESOLUTION:
  30.      Contact Number 9 or Diamond computer vendor for
  31.      an OS/2 device driver to run in high resolution (SVGA).

  34. Installing S3 964 Drivers on OS/2 Warp

  37. SYMPTOMS:
  38.  
  39.          1.  Installation does not finish.
  40.          2.  Installation hangs.
  41.  
  42. RESOLUTION:
  43.      1.  Edit the S3INST.CMD file
  44.      2.  Change all references to X:\OS2 to X:\OS2\BOOT.
  45.           (X: = drive where OS/2 resides)
  46.  
  47.      The drivers in original format do not install because they
  48.      reference the OS/2 directory.  OS/2 Warp installs the drivers
  49.      into the OS2\Boot directory.

  51. PROCEDURES:
  52.  
  53.       1. Insert the S3 driver diskette in the diskette
  54.          drive.
  55.       2. Type the drive letter, for example A:.
  56.       2. Type:
  57.              E S3INST.CMD
  58.       3.  Change the the following line:
  59.  
  60.           From:  X:\OS2
  61.           To:    X:\OS2\BOOT
  62.           X: = drive where OS/2 resides
  63.       4. Save the file.
  64.       5. Continue installation.
