TITLE: 950128 LINE IN SET TO ZERO ON SOUND BLASTER CARDS IN MMPM/2
UNDER OS/2 WARP FOR WINDOWS.
DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS:
Symptom 1.
When users hit play from Compact Disc player in Multimedia
Folder no audio is heard. Master volume is set to 100 and
does not resolve the problem.
Symptom 2.
If users record in the Digital Audio applet and line in is set
for the source no audio is recorded when record button is
pressed.
Sound Blaster boards that may be affected are:
Sound Blaster Pro (OPL2)
Sound Blaster Pro 2 (OPL3)
Sound Blaster 16 (OPL3)
Sound Blaster AWE32 (Wave Table)
** Sound Blaster names on the BOX may vary.
SUMMARY OF RESOLUTION:
See details resolution.
DETAILS OF RESOLUTION:
The line in volume can be changed from zero to a nominal number
by doing the following:
1. Download from Creative Labs BBS the OS/2 Mixer. Follow
the readme on how to setup a program icon on the desktop
for the Mixer. When the mixer is started adjust the Line
In volume to your liking. You can save the settings and
put the Mixer in the Startup folder. This will start when
the machine boots up to the OS/2 Desktop. If this is not
done the Line In volume will reset back to zero once the
machine is cold booted.
This will solve symptoms 1 and 2.
