  38. BACKDROP.ZIP. 
  39. BACKDROP and BMSNAP. They are both OS/2-PM executables. If
  40. you, like me, have used PM and hate only having a color as the
  41. desktop, BACKDROP allows one to have a .bmp file as the desk-
  42. top.  
  43. BMSNAP allows for capturing a screen region to a .BMP file so
  44. as to import anything you can display into BACKDROP. I hope
  45. you find them useful. I look forward to publishing BMSHOW very
  46. soon. Of course we all know if you use this at work, it is
  47. only fair to pay homage to the inventor.

  49. CLKCAL.ZIP 
  50. CLOCK / CALENDAR This program diplays an enlarged clock and a
  51. perpetual calendar as one session. If the time and date are
  52. needed at any time, while using OS/2, one can switch to this
  53. program and see. 
  54. NOTE: For this program to work, the three component file must
  55. be in the root directory: cc.cmd, cc1.exe and cc.dta

  57. CMP_UPDT.ZIP 
  58. These utilities are very much like the UPDATE and (enhanced)
  59. COMPARE in VM/CMS. Compare will [of course] compare 2 files.
  60. But it will also create a 'delta deck' which can be used by
  61. UPDATE to apply changes to the 1st file to make it like the
  62. 2nd. That way you do not need to keep the 2nd file, and you
  63. can keep a series of delta files to allow you to 'roll back' 
  64. changes you find undesirable (source control). One can even
  65. create 'control' files just like VM. You could even write a
  66. VMFASM.BAT without too much trouble. 
  67. COLOR.ZIP A utility for setting foreground and background
  68. screen colors from the full screen (text) command line in OS/2
  69. Versions 1.0 and 1.1. The default white-on-black colors can be
  70. restored either by entering COLOR or by issuing the command
  71. ANSI OFF and clearing the screen. If ANSI ON is then issued,
  72. the last-selected color scheme will return. The default ANSI
  73. drivers in OS/2 support 43- and 50-line as well as 25-line
  74. text modes. 
  75. Note: If the Presentation Manager is used, windowed applicati-
  76. ons provide their own color information. COLOR.EXE is used
  77. only for full-screen command line operation.

  79. ICONS-HS.ZIP The file describes how to use the .ICO files in
  80. this archive to create Presentation Manager icons for full
  81. screen programs. It was added to the original distribution of
  82. .ICO files so that people would know how to use the .ICO
  83. files.

  85. LF37-OS2.ZIP LF is a multi-featured directory program for
  86. people who don't like to see an endless mix of files and
  87. directories. LF also has some very handy batch file generation
  88. capabilities. This version of LF is also compatible with OS/2,
  89. for you techies this means that LF is a bimodal, family API
  90. program.

  92. LIST10H.ZIP A quick & dirty listing program for protect mode
  93. OS/2. It uses multiple threads for reading ahead in the file. 
  94. The first screen comes up after the first read! You don't have
  95. to wait for the file to be read in. (The read-ahead buffer is
  96. configurable from 50K on up (default is 200K)). The colors are
  97. configurable through an INI file. Goes straight to physical
  98. screen if possible. (otherwise the virtual is used). Also
  99. provides search and copy features from the files being listed.
