  36. RGB-TechWriter version 2.12 (TechWriter, for short) is a  personal
  37. computer word processor specifically designed to make  technical typing
  38. involving complex symbolic expressions fast, easy, and  accurate.
  39. RGB-TechWriter works best with 80-column (RGB-type) color  displays.
  40.  
  41. How does RGB-TechWriter handle equations better?
  42.          
  43. Equations involve characters with special attributes.  Some  characters
  44. need to be superscripted, some subscripted, and some  represent Greek or
  45. other special symbols not found on the typewriter keyboard.
  46. RGB-TechWriter handles this problem by using the color of  the character
  47. as it appears on the screen to convey the additional  information.  This
  48. insures that an exact correspondence is maintained between  columns on
  49. the screen and on the printed page.  This makes it easy to,  for example,
  50. line up the numerator and denominator of a complicated  expression.
  51. Other word processors require that this information be  provided in the
  52. form of additional control characters which are inserted  into the text.
  53. These control characters take up space on the screen but not  on the
  54. page, making alignment nearly impossible.  Some other word  processors
  55. use graphics mode to paint the special characters on the  screen as they
  56. will appear on the page.  This is a nice feature, but very  slow.  By
  57. using color instead, RGB-TechWriter makes editing much  faster.
