  19. DECISION ANALYSIS SYSTEM helps you decide which course of  action you might
  20. pursue. It can help someone faced with a  decision in choosing an alternative
  21. that is consistent with  his personal judgements and preferences. It has of
  22. two  separate and independent application programs the Decision  Matrix Method
  23. (DMM), and the Pairwise Comparison Method  (PCM).
  24. DMM is used primarily with tangible and easily-quantifiable  data. It gives
  25. you an unbiased ranking of alternatives to  consider. It is extremely easy to
  26. use, when quickly  narrowing down the set of alternatives to consider. It 
  27. discards dominated or substandard alternatives, and then  ranks the remaining
  28. alternatives in order of preference.
  29. PCM, on the other hand, deals specifically with subjective  assessments and
  30. evaluations of alternatives and criteria.  you must develop a hierarchical
  31. structure of the problem,  and enables him to quantify the impact of each
  32. element in  this hierarcy on the overall goal of the study. The  advantage of
  33. setting up your problem this way is that it  helps you focus your attention on
  34. each part of the problem  separately. This method is not only useful in 
  35. decision-making problems, but also in many other areas where  it's necessary
  36. to quantify a number of subjective criteria  but is difficult to do so. As
  37. well as being able to  calculate subjective weights based on your pairwise 
  38. comparisons, PCM can also give you an indication of  consistency in your
  39. judgement.
  40. The first method is objective while the latter is subjec tive, thus the
  41. program gives you two methods for analyzing  your alternatives. DECISION
