  30. Program Title: AMPLE NOTICE version 1.05 and CATALOG

  32.     AMPLE NOTICE is a calendar and alarm clock program that helps
  33. organize your schedule of appointments. Appointments and notes
  34. are entered into a standard text file in any of a variety of
  35. simple dating formats, and each day you view a calendar of
  36. commitments taken from this file. This text file may be edited
  37. from within the program AMPLE NOTICE or from an ASCII word
  38. processor. Appointments which include a time can automatically
  39. set a pop-up alarm clock which notifies you at a given advance
  40. interval. Printouts can be obtained for a specified range of
  41. dates so you can keep track of your appointments away from your
  42. computer. The printouts may be in a variety of print styles
  43. including a "tiny" option for very compressed listings for your
  44. wallet or purse. A printout of a calendar for any range of months
  45. for a particular year can also be obtained.

  47.     CATALOG is the result of frustration with the limitations of
  48. DOS file cataloguing, which allows only an 8-character file name
  49. plus a 3-character extension. CATALOG helps users of
  50. wordprocessors, spreadsheets and other programs write a file
  51. description of any length. This is done by maintaining a list of
  52. files of a chosen suffix in a simple textfile.  Descriptions of
  53. what each file is for are then added to the text file.

  61.      If you have a hard disk you may notice a pause as long as a
  62. couple of seconds at the end of a directory listing before the
  63. free space remaining on the disk is displayed.  SPACE.COM is a
  64. small resident utility which removes this pause by supressing the
  65. search for free space. The value returned will be the available
  66. space when SPACE was installed but the current free space can be
  67. obtained with the FREE.COM program. If you have enough space
  68. left on your disk so that you are not worried about filling it in
  69. a given session you may find that SPACE improves your disk's
  70. performance noticeably.
