  26. PCL 
  27.    is a family of printer command languages (coded as escape
  28.    sequences) designed by Hewlett Packard for control of their
  29.    printers.  It is a successful compromise between device
  30.    independence and interpretation  efficiency. 
  31. SHOWPCL 
  32.    interprets this PCL data and displays it in three columns.
  33.    It is mainly interesting for LASERJET output, including font
  34.    changes.

  36. EP2HP 
  37.    will allow the output of a graphics program to send that
  38.    sends its output to an EPSON MX/RX/FX printer to the HP
  39.    LASERJET PLUS or Series II.  For EP2HP to work, it must have
  40.    the output in as specified format.  That is output that uses
  41.    the 'ESC L' sequence to do graphics.  Programs that have
  42.    been tested are 
  43.        PRINT SHOP 
  44.        PRINT MASTER 
  45.        PRINT MASTER PLUS 
  46.        CERTIFICATE MAKER 
  47.    To capture printer ouput use the program LPTX (which is also
  48.    a PUBLIC DOMAIN program, but copyrighted material).

  50. BUILDPRD 
  51.    is een utility vergelijkbaar met SOFTREAD op volume 2966,
  52.    maar gaat "nog een stapje verder". Bruikbaar voor Microsoft
  53.    Word voor DOS versie 5.x. 
  54.    SoftRead genereert "slechts" de karakterbreedte-tabel
  55.    (flessehals in deze operatie), BUILDPRD tracht een komplete
  56.    driver te maken. Je geeft alle gewenste soft font bestanden
  57.    op, en het programma genereert zelf zowel de printerdriver
  58.    (.PRD) als de font-verwijs-tabel (.DAT). Er zijn de nodige
  59.    plaatsen waar het mis kan gaan, maar het handboek vermeldt
  60.    die duidelijk en geeft volop patch-mogelijkheid. Zodoende
  61.    moet het ook haalbaar zijn om DESKJET-aansturing met deze
  62.    utility te regelen, al zal het meer moeite kosten. 
  63.    Sharewarekosten zijn 25 dollar, en de auteur vermeldt zelf
  64.    het beste wat de voordelen daarvan zijn: 
  65.    "Benefits of registration: software upgrades for price of
  66.    floppy and postage, notice of additional software availabi-
  67.    lity, and new shoes for my kids."
