  15. This manual describes how to write programs in the {\tt WEB} language,
  16. using {\tt WEB} systems generated by {Spider}.
  17. Most of the material is taken verbatim from Donald Knuth's original
  18. memo introducing {\tt WEB}.
  19. It contains a brief introduction to the idea of literate programming,
  20. a short explanation of how to run {\tt WEAVE} and {\tt TANGLE}, and a
  21. list of all of the control sequences that can be used in {\tt WEB}
  22. programs and their effects.
