  1. THE OS/2 GAMER'S GUIDE - January 1995 Edition

  4. PLEASE READ THIS TEXT IN ITS ENTIRETY AS IT CONTAINS
  5. IMPROTANT INFORMATION ON PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS AND ON
  6. INSTALLATION PROCEDURES.

  8. Thank-you for taking a look at the first edition of
  9. "The OS/2 Gamer's Guide". This program is meant to
  10. be an easy to use tool in getting your DOS games
  11. working their best under OS/2.
  12.  
  13. The program is very straight forward in it's design
  14. and therefore should be extremely easy to use.
  15.  
  16. This first edition is obviously, and intentionally,
  17. fairly limited in the quantity of games included. The
  18. reasons for this are as follows:
  19.  
  20. (1) I want some feedback from users concerning the
  21.     design, layout, features, and scope of the guide.
  22.     If you feel something more should be added,
  23.     something should be changed or deleted, please
  24.     let me know.
  25. (2) I have only a limited number of games myself and
  26.     therefore will need users to send me settings
  27.     for games that they have successfully managed to
  28.     get running under OS/2.
  29.  
  30. I hope to be able to release updates at regular
  31. intervals in order to keep the contents of the guide
  32. as up-to-date as possible and thereby support the
  33. newest games. My initial idea is to do this on a
  34. bi-monthly basis, but please comment if you think
  35. otherwise.

  37. Finally, this program is freeware but I would
  38. appreciate a comment if you use the software. The
  39. program, and the installation routine, were both
  40. written entirely using VX-REXX v2.0c from Watcom. As
  41. a result it requires you to have a copy of the VX-REXX
  42. runtime library, VROBJ.DLL. This can be found on
  43. numerous OS/2 FTP sites including ftp-os2.cdrom.com,
  44. ftp.nmsu.edu and rexx.uwaterloo.ca.
