  4. V0.99D UPGRADE INSTALLATION:
  5.     1.  Copy the FILESTAR.EXE and FILESTAR.HLP files to the directory 
  6.         in which FileStar is installed.
  7.  
  8.     2.  Your existing FILESTAR.INI and FILESTAR.DAT files should work
  9.         with this version.        
  10.  
  11. NEW INSTALLATION: 
  12.  
  13.         1.  Copy FILESTAR.EXE, FILESTAR.HLP, and BPMCC.DLL to the
  14.             directory of your choice.
  15.  
  16.         2.  Drag the "Program" object from "Templates" (usually found
  17.             in the OS/2 system object).  The settings notebook will 
  18.             appear.
  19.  
  20.         3.  In the "Path and file name" box, enter X:\PATH\FILESTAR.EXE
  21.             where X: is the Drive and PATH is the path.        
  22.  
  23.         4.  In the "Parameters" box enter the two drive\directories that you
  24.             want read into the two file windows, i.e. 
  25.             D:\WHATEVER E:\MYAPPS. Leave a space between them.
  26.  
  27.         5.  Go to the "General" tab and enter FileStar in the "Title" entry
  28.             field.
  29.  
  30. STARTING:
  31.  
  32. FileStar can be started in one of four ways:
  33.  
  34.         1.  Double click with the mouse on FileStar's desktop icon.
  35.  
  36.         2.  At an OS/2 command prompt, type "X:\PATH\FILESTAR dir1 dir2" 
  37.             and Enter. The program will log in the directories listed on the 
  38.             command line.
  39.  
  40.         3.  Put BPMCC.DLL in the LIBPATH, FILESTAR.HLP in the OS/2 HLP 
  41.             directory and the directory containing FILESTAR.EXE in the path. 
  42.             Type "filestar" at a command prompt and Enter.    
  43.  
  44.         4.  Change to the directory with FILESTAR.EXE and from a command line, 
  45.             type "filestar" and Enter.    
  46.  
  47. FIRST TIME START:
  48.  
  49. FileStar will be slower than normal on the initial startup. It reads the two 
  50. directories into a disk file, creates an FILESTAR.INI and a WORKDIR 
  51. subdirectory. After startup, any drive not read into the disk file is added 
  52. when that drive is accessed. From this point on, refer to the online help. 
  53. Click in a window, press F1 for help. For General Help, press F4 then F1. 
  54. General Help has links to about all you need to know. There are seven 
  55. popup menus in the primary window. Be sure you find them all to fully 
  56. evaluate the program. You must have Info-ZIP's ZIP.EXE (v2.0.1) and 
  57. UNZIP.EXE (v5.1) to evaluate the zip interface (which is quite nice).
