  4. Archive Manager is a 32-bit, multithreaded Presentation Manager front-end for 
  5. the command-line archive programs PKZIP2 and LH. It allows you to easily create 
  6. and maintain archive files, extract files from the archive, view files in the 
  7. archive, etc.

  9.  Archive Manager supports drag-and-drop, so you can add files to an existing 
  10. archive simply by dragging file objects to Archive Manager's main window, and 
  11. dropping them.

  28.  The New Archive dialog box allows you to create a new archive file. Type in 
  29. the full pathname of the new archive file in the entry field to create a new 
  30. file. The filename must have a valid archive extension. If you name a file that 
  31. already exists, you will be given an option to just open the existing file.

  33. Note:  If you specify a new archive file to create, and then do not add any 
  34. files to the new archive, it will not actually be created by the archive 
  35. program.

  38. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. Add files to archive ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  40.  This is the dialog box that allows you to specify how Archive Manager will add 
  41. files to the current archive file. 
  42.  
  43.  Files to add: You can specify the files that you want to add to the archive by 
  44. typing their names in this entry field(wildcards accepted). You may also use 
  45. the Select button to select a specific file to add. 
  46.  
  47.  The Options. group allows you to set various options for the archive programs. 
  48. The Add radio button corresponds to the -a command line option for PKZIP2.EXE, 
  49. and to the A command for LH.EXE or LH32.EXE.  The Freshen radio button 
  50. corresponds to the -f command line option for PKZIP2.EXE. There is no similar 
  51. option in LH.EXE.  The Update radio button corresponds to the -u command line 
  52. option for PKZIP2.EXE. There is no similar option in LH.EXE.

  54.  The Move files checkbox should be checked if you want the archiver to delete 
  55. the files after adding them to the archive file.

  57.  The Compression group allows you to set how PKZIP2.EXE will compress the files 
  58. in the archive. Choose the Speed option if you want the archiver to simply 
  59. store files without compressing them. 
  60.  
  61.  The Subdirectories group allows you to set how subdirectories will be handled 
  62. by the archive programs. Choose the Collect checkbox if you want the archiver 
  63. to recursively collect subdirectories, and Store if you want the archiver to 
  64. actually store the subdirectories in the archive.

  67. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. Delete Files dialog box ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  69.  The Delete Files dialog box allows you to specify which files you would like 
  70. to delete from the current archive file.

  72.  The Selected files radio button, when selected, will cause the files that are 
  73. selected in the main file list to be removed from the archive file.

  75. Note:  If no files in the list are selected, this button will be disabled.

  77.  When the Files radio button is selected, you can specify a group of files to 
  78. remove, such as "*.txt", etc. When this button is selected, you must specify a 
  79. group of files to delete in the edit control to the side of this button.

  81. The Whole Archive button will let you close, then delete the current archive 
  82. file.

  85. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Extract Files dialog box ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  87. The Extract Files dialog box allows you to extract specified files from the 
  88. archive.

  90. The Selected files radio button, when selected, will cause the files that are 
  91. selected in the main file list to be extracted from the archive file.

  93. Note:  If no files in the list are selected, this button will be disabled.

  95. When the All files button is selected, all files in the archive will be 
  96. extracted from the archive file. When no files in the list are selected, this 
  97. button is selected by default. 
  98.  
  99. Specify the directory where the files in the archive will be extracted to with 
  100. the Extract to: entry field. This field defaults to the current directory if no 
  101. default extract directory is defined. You may change this to whatever you want. 
  102. If you specify a directory that doesn't exist, you will be given the option to 
  103. create the output directory.

  105.  The Options group lets you specify how the files will be extracted. 
  106.  
  107.  The Newer files only button corresponds to the -n option in PKUNZIP2.EXE. 
  108. There is no equivalent in LH.EXE. 
  109.  
  110.  The Restore subdirectories button, when checked, will recreate the directory 
  111. structure stored in the archive file. This button is checked by default.

  114. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. Viewer Window ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  116. You can use the Viewer Window to view files contained in the archive.

  118. The Close button closes the View Window.

  120. The Copy button allows you to copy selected text from the window to the OS/2 
  121. clipboard. If you press this button before you have selected any text, then you 
  122. will be given an option to copy all of the text in the window to the clipboard.

  127.  The Settings dialog box allows you to specify how Archive Manager will behave 
  128. when dealing with archive files.

  130.  Default extract directory: Specifies where files that you extract from an 
  131. archive will be placed, if no other directory is specified. This setting can be 
  132. changed when extracting files, from the Extract Files  dialog box. 
  133.  
  134.  Create Folder: When this option is checked, Archive Manager will create a 
  135. shadow of the directory where the extracted files are placed.

  140.  The Archivers dialog box specifies which command-line archive programs will be 
  141. used to create and extract archived files.

  143. Note:  This version of Archive Manager does not support DOS-based archiver 
  144. programs, or the command line syntax of InfoZIP.

  146.  ZIP: Specifies the archive program for creating archive files with the 
  147. extension .ZIP. The default is PKZIP2.EXE.

  149.  UnZIP: Specifies the archive program for extracting and viewing archive files 
  150. with the extension .ZIP. The default is PKUNZIP2.EXE.

  152.  LZH: Specifies the archive program for creating, extracting and viewing 
  153. archive files with the extension .LZH. The default is LH.EXE.

  158. This is the unregistered version 1.0 of Archive Manager. You have a 30-day 
  159. liscense to this program. After this period, the liscense will expire and the 
  160. demo version of Archive Manager will no longer run.
