  1. Thank you for your interest in Profit Press CD-ROMs.

  3. The MegaDEMO CD-ROM contains a sampling of what is available on 
  4. other Profit Press CD-ROM discs. The included support software 
  5. is fully functional and versions are included for DOS, Windows 
  6. and BBS systems.
  7.  
  8. Please take the time to examine our unique interface software 
  9. carefully. Make sure you try out the Hyper Search feature that 
  10. is present in all versions. All Profit Press CD-ROMs include 
  11. this software free of charge.
  12.  
  13. File lists and additional information about all Profit Press 
  14. CD-ROMs available as of 9/92 is contained in the \PPRESS 
  15. directory. Use DEMO.EXE to read the various information files 
  16. included for you, including program documentation. You will
  17. also find PPDEMO.ZIP in \PPRESS. This is a walkthrough demo
  18. of MegaSearch Retrieval Software.

  20. An INSTALL program is included to automate our software 
  21. installation process. Please note that the install program 
  22. also can install support software for MegaA/V, MegaCD-ROM 1, 
  23. MegaCD-ROM 2, MegaWinOS/2 A, SDN1 Plus, MegaROM-1, and the FAO 
  24. collection. The software contained on this CD-ROM is the most 
  25. recent available at the time of pressing. (10/92)

  27. Two new Profit Press utilities have been released with this
  28. disc. CDBENCH is designed to produce reliable real world
  29. benchmark results for CD-ROM drives. CDBENCH will only work
  30. on MegaDEMO. Please read CDBENCH.DOC for more information.
  31. MEGAFILE is a sysop utility that allows the creation of standard 
  32. and custom (anything!) FILES.BBS files for any Profit Press 
  33. CD-ROM. Both are included in the root directory of this CD-ROM.

  35. Much of the software on this CD-ROM is designated as some form 
  36. of "Shareware."  Shareware software is not free.  Shareware is 
  37. a try-before-you-buy method of software distribution.  Please 
  38. read the individual author's comments on the registration of 
  39. his or her product.  If you use a Shareware product you should 
  40. pay for it - just like commercial software.  Shareware authors 
  41. rely on your good will and honesty.

  43. Some software, however, is designated "Public domain" or 
  44. "freeware." Such software usually will not require any 
  45. registration.  If a registration is required it is usually just 
  46. a post card to the author - to let him or her know that you 
  47. like and use the product.

  49. Certain programs on the disc, such as hard drive optimizers and
  50. low level disk editors, can potentially damage your equipment. 
  51. Profit Press will not be held responsible for damages incurred 
  52. through the use of this disc, or any programs/data contained on 
  53. these discs.

  55. All efforts have been made to insure that the disc is 100% 
  56. virus free.  No known viruses are on this disc.  Similarly we 
  57. have tried to insure that no commercial software is present on 
  58. the disc.
