  11.                            METZKW.SYS
  12.  
  13. 1.  Using the METZ Corporate Screen Saver with Non-Windows
  14. Applications.
  15.  
  16.     If you run DOS applications under Microsoft Windows, and are
  17. having problems with the Screen Saver activating while you are working
  18. in the DOS window, make sure that METZKW.SYS is installed in your
  19. CONFIG.SYS file.  This driver (METZKW.SYS) detects activity in your
  20. DOS application.  Your CONFIG.SYS file should contain a line reading:
  21.  
  22.    device=c:\windows\system\metzkw.sys (or the appropriate path)
  23.  
  24. Don't forget to reboot if you have just made the changes to your
  25. CONFIG.SYS file.
  26.  
  27. 2.  Technical Information about METZKW.SYS.
  28.  
  29.     METZKW.SYS uses less than 2K of memory.
  30.  
  31.     METZKW.SYS can be loaded high.
  32.  
  33.     METZKW.SYS has the following optional parameters:
  34.  
  35.        /NOCAD - disables CTRL-ALT-DEL at the DOS level.
  36.  
  37.        /NOMAT - disables mouse tracking, should there be a conflict
  38.  
  39.     If you were to add both options to your CONFIG.SYS, they would
  40. appear as follows:
  41.  
  42.     device=c:\windows\system\metzkw.sys /NOCAD /NOMAT
  43.  
  44. 3.  Using METZKW.COM instead of METZKW.SYS.
  45.  
  46.     If you find that the keyboard activity is not being detected
  47. while running DOS applications under Windows, it may be necessary
  48. to use the METZKW.COM version of METZKW.SYS because of a few
  49. drivers that interfere with the operation of METZKW.SYS.
  50. Running METZKW.COM in your AUTOEXEC.BAT after these drivers are
  51. loaded, and before Windows is run, will eliminate the problem.
  52.  
  53.     The DOS KEYB command and some network drivers affect METZKW.SYS.
  54.  
  55.     Both METZKW.SYS and METZKW.COM are installed to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM
  56. directory.
  57.  
  58. 4.  Technical Information about METZKW.COM
  59.  
  60. METZKW.COM supports the additional parameter:
  61.  
  62.     /UNLOAD - unloads METZKW.COM from memory unless the mouse driver
  63.               has been loaded after METZKW was loaded.
