│ SEE BELOW FOR PRODUCT INFORMATION │

┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ This is a VENDINFO Product Information Record │
│ │
│ This record is a means of conveying information about a software │
│ product from the author to distributors and users. It contains a │
│ normal, "human-readable" section (you're reading it now), followed │
│ by a compressed data record. The data record contains a great │
│ deal of information in a form useable by automated tools. This │
│ allows BBSes, disk vendors, etc. to test automatically for │
│ permission to distribute, and to automatically extract product │
│ information for use in BBS files databases, vendor catalogs, etc. │
│ │
│ The VENDINFO file standard is published and is freely useable. │
│ │
│ The VENDINFO toolset includes a free end-user viewer, processing │
│ tools for use by distributors (BBSes, shareware disk vendors, │
│ etc.), and the editor used by author/publishers to produce these │
│ records. These tools are either free or very-low cost shareware. │
│ The toolset can be obtained from many sources, including the │
│ originators of VENDINFO: │

===== Information for Users ("READ-ME") ================
This package contains the shareware edition of ALLY- A Lisp Analyzer
v3.0. ALLY provides an AutoLISP programming environment complete with
two powerful debugging tools--ALLY Analyzer and ALLY Checker. The ALLY
Workbench programming environment doesn't force you to learn yet another
text editor, instead it integrates your own favorite DOS text editor and
other development tools.
All manner of professional programmers use ALLY to debug and polish
their AutoLISP applications. ALLY's ability to show the structure of an
unfamiliar program in seconds makes it great for Consultants debugging
client programs. Cad managers find ALLY indispensable for verifying,
integrating and documenting code produced by in-house employees.
ALLY is not just for power users - in fact, teachers and students alike
find ALLY to be a useful educational tool. Not only can ALLY be used to
help check the students work, it also analyzes and "blueprints" sample
AutoLISP code from professionals, to be used for study.
Here is what industry experts have to say about ALLY:
"ALLY is an AutoLISP programming environment that every programmer
should install." "Highly Recommended." CADalyst magazine, March 1991.
"My personal preference is to use an industrial-strength editor...and
tie it to an analyzer such as ALLY." "...ALLY is the software for me."
"CADENCE Performer" CADENCE magazine, March 1994.
