  1. United SysOps of the World
  2. ==========================

  5. Description:
  6. ------------
  7.                 This non-profit organization is being created for one 
  8.         evident reason: to unite the most SysOps in the world.   This 
  9.         union has some simple goals:
  10.  
  11.                 - Allow sysops to have the resource to help each other
  12.                 - Allow a fast spreading of the latest sharewares and
  13.                   informations
  14.                 - Give non-bbs users an awareness of the existence of BBSes
  15.                   and their usefullness
  16.                 - Allows SysOps to meet and discuss about new ideas &
  17.                   projects
  18.  
  19. The basic explanation of how it should work:
  20. --------------------------------------------
  21.                 SysOps will be grouped according to their geographical
  22.         location.  Each region will have an organizer and each province or
  23.         state will also have an organizer for the regional organizers.  But  
  24.         there is no authority on any level.  Regions can do what they want
  25.         but it would be nice of them to inform their state organizers to 
  26.         keep the other sysops informed of what events occur in other regions.

  28.                 Organizers will regularly contact their "parent"
  29.         organizer to spread information & sharewares.  Then
  30.         the regional organizers will spread the files & informations
  31.         to the SysOps.  
  32.         
  33.                 Shareware authors who send their shareware to the home BBS 
  34.         will allow their programs to be spread on the entire network.  If 
  35.         they send their program to regional BBSes then the spread will only 
  36.         be in the concerned region(s) unless otherwise specified by the 
  37.         author.  The home BBS will send lists of all the regional and 
  38.         provincial BBSes to shareware authors to inform them of the union.  
  39.         The home BBS will only accept sharewares from those who made them 
  40.         to insure the original filename and contents remain intact.

  42.                 Organizers ARE NOT ALLOWED to modify the files in anyway.
  43.         Only archive comments will be accepted.  No files added or removed
  44.         from the archives!

  52.                 This is only an example to clarify the working structure
  53.         of the network.  The "real" network will be adjusted based upon
  54.         the number of members in each location

  56. How to get involved in creating this union:
  57. -------------------------------------------
  58.                 Simply prepare answers to the following questions:
  59.  
  60.                 - Your full name
  61.                 - The phone # where you can be reached voice (include area)
  62.                 - The name of your BBS
  63.                 - The phone # of your BBS
  64.                 - Mailing adress (3 lines)
  65.                   (no abbreviations in the city/state/province!)
  66.                 - The BBS software used
  67.                 - How long has your BBS been operating
  68.                 - Your approximate knowledge of computers
  69.                    (novice, average, expert)
  70.                 - Would you accept the responsibilities of being a
  71.                   regional or state/provincial operator
  72.                   (time and money involved)
  73.                 - The orientation of your BBS
  74.                   (all, programming only, pictures only, etc...)
  75.                 - Type of computer

  77.                 Then call the ProFile BBS (514) 655-6964.

  79.                 You can answer these questions in the "Q" option from the
  80.         main menu and 3rd questionnaire.  If you have any comments regarding
  81.         the union, please leave it in the "C"omment to SysOp option.  Your
  82.         comments are important!  If you have ideas & suggestions, include
  83.         them too!  Thanks.  All the above informations (except for your name,
  84.         BBS name, BBS phone, city and state/province) will be confidential!
