  1. Thank you for your interest in the CompuServe Information Manager(tm) 
  2. for Windows - WinCIM(r).
  3.  
  4. A context-sensitive Help feature can be accessed from any area of 
  5. WinCIM by hitting the F1 key.
  6.  
  7. You can obtain information on the current status of WinCIM by accessing 
  8. the GO WINCIM area on CompuServe.  This area contains information 
  9. related to the status of WinCIM.  
  10.  
  11. You can also obtain help and support through the WinCIM Support Forum 
  12. (GO WCIMSUPPORT).  This forum is devoted to WinCIM and is staffed by 
  13. representatives from CompuServe's Customer Service department.

  16. New features in WinCIM 1.3.1:
  17.  
  18. - Simple Mail attachments have been implemented.  This feature is similar to
  19.   "Send File" with the exception that now a text message can be associated 
  20.   with the file being sent.  The recipient(s) will receive two messages with
  21.   the same subject.  One will contain the message text the other will contain
  22.   the information about the file.
  23.  
  24. - NCSI/NASI Support has been added to support connection to CompuServe via
  25.   a LAN server configuration.  This new feature will not be apparent unless
  26.   you have NCSI/NASI drivers installed on your PC.
  27.  
  28. - "Copy To" functionality has been enhanced to include the ability to copy
  29.   via the clipboard to a MAPI message store.  This feature will enable a 
  30.   user to copy selected text directly to a mail message generated from a mail
  31.   client that is MAPI compliant (e.g. Microsoft Mail).  Note, you will not
  32.   see this feature unless you have a MAPI mail application.

  34. - Significant bugs have been fixed.

  39. - All of the new features have been documented via the on-line help files.
  40.   Manuals will be updated after the next major release.

  42. - If you are upgrading from WinCIM version 1.0.5 (or earlier) 
  43.   AND you have the "^" character in your password, you will 
  44.   need to re-enter your password the very first time you 
  45.   use WinCIM 1.3.1.  You only need to do this if you have the 
  46.   password stored in your session settings.

  48. - WinCIM "looks" at the text in menus and articles and determines 
  49.   if the data is column data.  If WinCIM detects that the 
  50.   information contains column data, it will switch into a fixed 
  51.   font (so the information will line up properly).  You can switch
  52.   between the fixed and proportional font by choosing the 
  53.   "Fixed Font" option from the Edit pull down menu (or you 
  54.   can use Cntrl-T).

  56. - International keyboard characters (ISO Latin-1) can be used in 
  57.   WinCIM.  This capability allows WinCIM users to send CompuServe 
  58.   Mail and Forum messages that contain international characters.  
  59.   There are some known limitations to using these characters.

  64. - WinCIM is shipped with a mono-spaced font that can be used when 
  65.   using WinCIM's terminal emulation mode.  This font (Monospaced 821)
  66.   can be installed through the Windows Control Panel and it will then 
  67.   be available for use in WinCIM.  You can find this font in the
  68.   c:\cserve\wincim directory.

  70.   The default "Terminal" font can be changed in WinCIM by accessing 
  71.   the "General Preferences" dialog and clicking on the "Fonts" button.

  73. - Sounds (.WAV files) can be associated with WinCIM events (i.e.
  74.   connecting, file transfer completion, etc.).  Sounds can be added 
  75.   and removed through the sound module in the Windows Control Panel.
  76.  
  77.   The WinCIM install procedure does not overwrite any existing 
  78.   sounds that may already be defined in the WIN.INI file.  If 
  79.   WinCIM made changes to the WIN.INI file, the original file was 
  80.   backed up and named WININI.CIM.
