  14. 1. DESCRIPTION- Printit Super Print Components for Delphi 1 & 2
  15. ===============================================================
  16. Printit  are fully functional print components for Delphi.  It consists of
  17. more than 120 A4 pages of code to enable you to generate quality printed
  18. output with less than 5 lines of code !  Now you can print Delphi forms and
  19. windows direct from the screen with minimal programming effort - support is
  20. included for printing most of the standard Delphi components. It is not a
  21. bitmap dump of the screen!
  22.  
  23. Unlike other Delphi demo shareware components,  there is no need for Delphi
  24. to run while your program (with Printit )is executing.  You must however have
  25. the Delphi Paradox Engine installed if you are using database access.
  26.  
  27. This copy of  Printit  displays a UNREGISTERED COPY OF Printit message on the
  28. screen when preparing a printout and prints a UNREGISTERED COPY OF Printit
  29. message on all printouts if not registered. If you register, you will receive
  30. an activation code that disables the nag screen and nag message printed at the
  31. bottom of each printout.

  59. 2. DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE

  62. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before buying it.
  63. If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, you are expected to
  64. register. Individual programs differ on details -- some request registration
  65. while others require it, some specify a maximum trial period. With registration
  66. , you get anything from the simple right to continue using the software to an
  67. updated program with printed manual.

  69. Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial software, and the
  70. copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific exceptions as
  71. stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished programmers, just like
  72. commercial authors, and the programs are of comparable quality. (In both
  73. cases, there are good programs and bad ones!) The main difference is in
  74. the method of distribution. The author specifically grants the right to
  75. copy and distribute the software, either to all and sundry or to a specific
  76. group. For example, some authors require written permission before a commercial
  77. disk vendor may copy their Shareware.

  79. Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You should find
  80. software that suits your needs and pocketbook, whether it's commercial or
  81. Shareware. The Shareware system makes fitting your needs easier, because you
  82. can try before you buy. And because the overhead is low, prices are low also.
  83. Shareware has the ultimate money-back guarantee -- if you don't use the
  84. product, you don't pay for it.

  87. 3. DISCLAIMER - AGREEMENT
  88. -------------------------
  89. This is a legal agreement between you and Calitz Bros. It becomes effective 
  90. when you install all or any part of the software of Calitz Bros.
  91.  
  92. Users of the software must accept this disclaimer of warranty: "The software 
  93. is suppliedas is.  The author disclaims all warranties, expressed or implied, 
  94. including, without limitation, the warranties of merchantability and of 
  95. fitness for any purpose. The author assumes no liability for damages, direct 
  96. or consequential, which may result from the use of the software. " The 
  97. software is a "shareware product" and is provided at no charge to the user 
  98. for evaluation.  Feel free to share it with your friends, but please do not 
  99. give it away when registered. The essence of "user-supported" software is to 
  100. provide personal computer users with quality software without high prices, and 
  101. yet to provide incentive for programmers to continue to develop new products.  
  102. If you find this product useful and find that you are using it and continue to 
  103. use it after a reasonable trial period, you must register it with Calitz Bros. 
  104. through Kagi software or Compuserve.  This registration fee will license one 
  105. copy for use on any one computer at any one time. The registration and the 
  106. activation code will be valid for future minor upgrades,  bug fixes and 
  107. enhancements to Version 5.x.   When we have received your payment,  we will 
  108. e-mail, fax or post your activation code to you. You must treat this software 
  109. just like a book.  An example is that this software may be used by any number 
  110. of people and may be freely moved from one computer location to another, so long
  111. as there is no possibility of it being used at one location while it's being
  112. used at another. Just as a book cannot be read by two different persons at
  113. the same time. When Calitz Bros. components is being compiled into an executable 
  114. application with the extension ".exe", then there are no licensing fees or 
  115. royalties for distribution of the executable and the DLL. Should any part of 
  116. components be derived to form new components, royalties apply.

  118. Users of Calitz Bros. software must register and pay for their copies of the
  119. software within 30 days of first use or their license is withdrawn.

  121. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE TERMS OUTLINED IN THIS AGREEMENT WILL RESULT IN 
  122. TERMINATION OF YOUR SOFTWARE LICENCE.

  124. Anyone distributing Calitz Bros. software for any kind of remuneration must 
  125. first contact Calitz Bros. at the address below for authorization. This 
  126. authorization will be automatically granted to shareware distributors, and such 
  127. distributors may begin offering the software immediately (However Calitz Bros. 
  128. must still be advised so that the distributor can be kept up-to-date with the 
  129. latest versions).

  131. The software has a nag screen and/or printouts when it is not registered. If 
  132. registered, the message on the reports can be replaced by the user's own wording 
  133. or nothing if required.

  135. You are encouraged to pass a copy of unregistered software to your friends for
  136. evaluation.  Please encourage them to register their copy if they find
  137. that they can use it.

  140. 4. THE ZIP FILES
  141. ----------------
  142. Printit consists of the following files:
  143.  
  144. 1. FRMCP_16.ZIP - The 16-bit components for Delphi 1.x
  145. 2. FRMCP_32.ZIP - The 32-bit components for Delphi 2.x
  146. 3. FRMHLP.ZIP   - The .HLP and .KWF files
  147. 4. FRMDEMO.ZIP  - 16-bit Demo executable (alias DBDEMOS must be defined)
  148. 5. FRMSRC.ZIP   - Source code of the demos
  149. 6. REGISTER.ZIP - Register information and program to register through Kagi 
  150. Software or Compuserve.
  151. 7. ACTIVATE.ZIP - The program to enter your registration code after you have
  152. received it.

  154. These files must all be extracted into separate directories
  155.  
  156. 5. INSTALLING PRINTIT COMPONENTS
  157. --------------------------------
  158.  
  159. 5.1. Backup the component library file named COMPLIB.DCL in your \DELPHI\BIN
  160. directory.  This will allow you to restore your component library if you
  161. encounter any problems during the installation process.
  162.  
  163. 5.2. Start DELPHI and select Options | Install Components from the menu.
  164. Click on the Add button when the Install Components dialog is displayed.
  165.  
  166.      To install PrintIt,
  167.  
  168.             Click on the Browse button and select the file PRINTIT.PAS
  169.             in the directory where PrintIt  was installed, usually
  170.             C:\Prt\d16 (for Delphi 1.x) or C:\Prt\d32 (for
  171.             Delphi 2.x) development.
  172.  
  173. 5.3. Click on OK to return to the Install Components Dialog Box and click
  174. on OK to accept the changes.  DELPHI will now install the new components.
  175. A new page will be created on the component bar called  Printit that contains
  176. the new components.

  179. 6. INSTALLING THE KEYWORD HELP (To access from Delphi)
  180. ------------------------------------------------------
  181.  
  182. 6.1.    Execute the file  HELPINST.EXE  in the \DELPHI\HELP directory.
  183.  
  184. 6.2.    Select  File | Open  from the menu.
  185.  
  186. 6.3.    Open the file  DELPHI.HDX  in the  \DELPHI\BIN directory.
  187.  
  188. 6.4.    Select  Keywords |Add  Keyword file from the menu.

  190. 6.5.    Select the file  PRINTIT.KWF  in the  \Prt\d16 directory
  191. (for Delphi 1.x) or in the \Prt\d32 (for Delphi 2.x) development.

  193. 6.6.    Select  File | Save from the menu.

  196. Note:  To access help from the demos - Copy the help file named PRINTIT.HLP
  197. in the PrintIt directory to your windows directory.

  200. 7. REMOVING PRINTIT COMPONENTS
  201. ------------------------------
  202.  
  203. 7.1.  Start DELPHI and select Options | Install Components from the menu.
  204. Click on the Printit unit (to remove Printit) and then on the Remove button.
  205.  
  206. 7.2.  Click on OK to remove the components from the component bar.
  207.  
  208. IF YOU ARE USING DELPHI 1.x FOR 16 BIT DEVELOPMENT:
  209. 7.3.    Remove the directory C:\Prt\d16 or the directory where PrintIt was
  210. installed.

  212. 7.4.  Remove the icons and group from the Print Manager screen
  213.

  216. IF YOU ARE USING DELPHI 2.x FOR 32 BIT DEVELOPMENT:
  217. 7.3.  Remove the directory C:\Prt\d32 or the directory where PrintIt was
  218. installed.

  220. 7.4.  Remove the icons and group from the Print Manager screen
  221.  
  222. 7.5.  Remove the complete directory C:\Prt to remove all trace of PrintIt

  225. 8. GENERAL INFORMATION
  226. ----------------------

  228. Printit sells for $US50 which is not unreasonable, considering that it
  229. consists of more than 120 A4 pages of code which enables you to generate
  230. quality printouts with less than 5 lines of code. See the registration
  231. information on how to register.  We reserve the right to change prices
  232. without notice.

  235. We would appreciate any comment or suggestion to improve the Printit
  236. product further. New versions are coming out frequently with bug fixes
  237. and enhancements. Please let us know if  there is any other requirement
  238. that you may have.
