  1. Total Chaos for Descent 2 Conversion Project

  3. Current Status: v1.0 (Direct Conversion/D2 adaption complete)

  5. Welcome!  This is the OFFICIAL release of Total Chaos for
  6. D2!  All 5 levels are finally converted...hope you enjoy
  7. them!
  8.  
  9. All these levels have been modified to take advantage of
  10. Descent 2's new features, such as flowing textures,
  11. different reactors, and shoot-out lights.
  12.  
  13. All levels also have at least one of each weapon on
  14. them (except for level 1, which is sans Earthshaker and
  15. Smart Mines, they're almost unfair on that level!).
  16.  
  17. Updates from last revision:
  18.  
  19. 1.  Level 5 is done and it completes the set!  Notice that
  20.     it's a rather icy level...
  21.  
  22. Updates in previous revision (most recent first):
  23.  
  24. 1.  Removed Earthshaker and Smart Mines from level 1.
  25.     They're unfair on that level.  Lots of complaints,
  26.     too.
  27. 2.  Changed some textures on 1 and 2.  I used some 
  28.     look-alikes when I first converted them, then 
  29.     found the exact matches buried at the end of the 
  30.     texture list.
  31. 3.  Devil's reactor bug fixed.  Now there IS a reactor.
  32. 4.  Added flag stuff.  Another Devil bug kept me from
  33.     adding it.  Let me know if flag doesn't work so
  34.     I can let Achim know.
  35. 5.  Removed the waterfalls at the bottom of the lava
  36.     tube in level 1.  Lots of complaints.

  38. Currently Known Bugs:

  40. 1.  Some of the lava, water, etc. flows look crappy, but
  41.     hey, Parallax didn't do a much better job on the
  42.     game levels... :)
  43. 2.  Achim has yet to fix his offset tables for the flags in
  44.     Devil.  Initially the flags will appear as a fusion blast
  45.     and a reactor fireball.  Once you pick them up the game
  46.     will take over and they will be normal, but still this
  47.     is annoying.  I will release v1.1 once Achim has fixed
  48.     this oversight, and hopefully that will be the final
  49.     version.

  54. conversion!
