  9.     Thank you for trying out the first in a series of Thai language 
  10. tutorial programs. Before you begin there are a few requirements you  
  11. need to know before you install the program.
  12.     Thai Tutor is a Windows 3.1 specific program. It may work with 
  13. Windows 3.0 with the Multimedia extensions, this has not been tested. 
  14. It is also designed to work with a sound card. Windows PC Speaker drivers 
  15. are available (one is included with this version- speak.exe -uncompress 
  16. it (self-extracting) and follow the included installation instructions) 
  17. but most PC Speakers are not of a very good quality. If you do not wish
  18. to purchase a sound board then you may want to replace your internal PC 
  19. Speaker with a larger one. Also, a 256 Gray level/color VGA card/monitor
  20. is also required. If you try to run in EGA or VGA in the 16 color mode 
  21. the active window and graphics will appear slightly distorted though the
  22. program should still work. Also, for peak performance it would be best 
  23. to have a 386 or higher.
  24.     To install,  create a subdirectory called TT (or any name that 
  25. you wish. The name should not matter) and copy all the files from the 
  26. two self-extracting compressed files to it. To install an icon on your 
  27. windows desktop follow the Windows instructions to create a program 
  28. item icon in one of your folders (see your Windows owners manuals 
  29. for detailed instructions). You will need 3 meg of free space on your
  30. hard drive. (This readme file has been updated--the only difference is
  31. the amount of hardrive space required. From 6meg to 3 meg. File 2 of 3 
  32. and 3 of three have the old readme file no other change has been made
  33. to it has been made except this message and the required space.)

  37. You must copy the file named wcrun100.exe into your windows directory!!!!!
  38. If you do not then the Thai Tutor program will not work!!!!

  41. You should have downloaded two files: TT11-a.exe, TT11-b.exe and 
  42. TT11-c.exe. The first file contains:

  44. TT11.exe     The actual program.
  45. Readme.1st    This readme file.

  47. The Second file contains:
  48.  
  49. Speak.exe    The acompanying Windows 3.1 PC speaker Driver. (Compressed)
  50. Readme.1st    This readme file.
  51. WCrun100.exe    Windowcraft Runtime Module.

  53. The third file should contain nothing but wav files to numerous to
  54. list here and a copy of this readme file.
