- Thank you for trying out the first in a series of Thai language
- tutorial programs. Before you begin there are a few requirements you
- need to know before you install the program.
- Thai Tutor is a Windows 3.1 specific program. It may work with
- Windows 3.0 with the Multimedia extensions, this has not been tested.
- It is also designed to work with a sound card. Windows PC Speaker drivers
- are available (one is included with this version- speak.exe -uncompress
- it (self-extracting) and follow the included installation instructions)
- but most PC Speakers are not of a very good quality. If you do not wish
- to purchase a sound board then you may want to replace your internal PC
- Speaker with a larger one. Also, a 256 Gray level/color VGA card/monitor
- is also required. If you try to run in EGA or VGA in the 16 color mode
- the active window and graphics will appear slightly distorted though the
- program should still work. Also, for peak performance it would be best
- to have a 386 or higher.
- To install, create a subdirectory called TT (or any name that
- you wish. The name should not matter) and copy all the files from the
- two self-extracting compressed files to it. To install an icon on your
- windows desktop follow the Windows instructions to create a program
- item icon in one of your folders (see your Windows owners manuals
- for detailed instructions). You will need 3 meg of free space on your
- hard drive. (This readme file has been updated--the only difference is
- the amount of hardrive space required. From 6meg to 3 meg. File 2 of 3
- and 3 of three have the old readme file no other change has been made
- to it has been made except this message and the required space.)

- NOTE!
- You must copy the file named wcrun100.exe into your windows directory!!!!!
- If you do not then the Thai Tutor program will not work!!!!

-
- You should have downloaded two files: TT11-a.exe, TT11-b.exe and
- TT11-c.exe. The first file contains:
-
- TT11.exe The actual program.
- Readme.1st This readme file.
-
- The Second file contains:
-
- Speak.exe The acompanying Windows 3.1 PC speaker Driver. (Compressed)
- Readme.1st This readme file.
- WCrun100.exe Windowcraft Runtime Module.
-
- The third file should contain nothing but wav files to numerous to
- list here and a copy of this readme file.
-
- If you have any problems getting the program to install properly please let
- me know and I will help.
