- ^Utility HELP screen^
-
- The Utility options allow you to:
-
- 1. ~FIRST NAME~: Enter your first name.
-
- 2. ~PROGRESS CHART~: See how well you are doing on each of 510 idioms (30
- idioms in demo version) during exercises and quizzes. When you use
- IdioMagic for the first time, each idiom has 0 point. Each time you answer
- correctly for a particular idiom, you will gain a point for that idiom. If
- you answer incorrectly, you will lose a point. You can also review an
- idiom by pressing [F1] and entering its #. Idiom #'s are those shown on
- the left side of the screen.
-
- Note: When you do an exercise or quiz on Previous or All lessons,
- IdioMagic will try to include those idioms you have answered incorrectly
- more frequently than those you have answered correctly. IdioMagic does
- this by looking for idioms with negative points.
-
- 3. ~SOUND~: Turn the sound effects on or off.
-
- 4. ~COLOR/SHADE~: Switch to a different color/shade setting.
-
-
- 5. ~DIFFICULTY NUMBER~: Change the difficulty level. IdioMagic has three
- difficulty levels: 1) beginning, 2) intermediate, and 3) advanced.
-
- 6. ~LESSON NUMBER~: Within a given level, use this option to change the lesson
- number. When you have used options 5 and 6 to specify new lesson and
- level numbers, IdioMagic will send you to the new location when you start
- your next lesson. You can always come back to the Utility menu and
- change your location again.
-
- 7. ~RESET~: Use this option to wipe out the latest changes you made in options
- 5 and 6 and return to the location just before the change. This option
- is helpful if you want to skip to a different part of IdioMagic, and then
- come back to where you were without missing any lessons. You don't have
- to remember exactly where you left off, because IdioMagic remembers it
- for you.
-
- Note: If you change a lesson or level number, the next lesson will cover
- the 10 idioms from the newly chosen lesson and level.
-
- ^[F1] SAVE and EXIT^ You need to press [F1] to save your changes as you exit
- and return to the Main Menu.
-
- ^[F2] EXIT WITHOUT UPDATE^ Press [F2] to leave Utility and return to the Main
- Menu if you DON'T want your changes to be saved after all.
