- The font 'chinese.16' that comes with the package has been
- deleted to save space. You need to ftp the font from
- ifcss.org:/software/fonts/big5/hbf
- and put it in the main directory of the package.

- Introduction

- The CDICT Chinese dictionary is a easy and cheap computer dictionary.
- It has more than 9000 English vocabulary.

- Requirement

- The CDICT is require the following item :
- 1) IBM PC 286, 386 or 486
- 2) Monochrome, CGA, MCGA, EGA or VGA (recommened)
- 3) 1.4M free space

- Installation
-
- After unzip, you shall have the following files in directory

- README.TXT ;this file
- CDICT.EXE ;the main program
- CGA.BGI ;CGA graphic file
- EVGVGA.BGI ;EGA & VGA graphic file
- HERC.BGI ;HERC graphic file
- DBF\ ;Directory for Chinese Dictory Data

- CHINESE.16 ;fan ti chinese font

- Start CDICT

- Go to the directory which has the CDICT.EXE program, and type CDICT.
- The program will do all the setting for you!

- Once entered, the choice of two major CDICT functions appear.
- 1. Search by English vocabulary, or
- eg. English vocabulary : Hello

- 2. Search by pattern
- eg. For unsure English vocabulary : "hello" as a example
- type "hell", the system will search the pattern that start with "hell".
- or
- type "hel?o, the system will search the pattern that match the "hel?o"
- ** using "?" for any char, same idea as the way in DOS **

- To return to the menu page, please press the return.

- =========================== REGISTERATION ================================
- The Un-Register user can only use a small part of CDICT english vocabulary
- database (ie. a to e). On the other hand, the register user can use the
- whole vocabulary database.

- To register is very simple, just fill the register form (CDICT.REG)
- and sent it to the following address with $20AU.
