  1. EARTHWORDS For Alien Dinosaurs -- Windows Evaluation Version

  4. When alien dinosaurs from the planet Dinopia landed on Earth,
  5. they were amazed to discover that we speak many different 
  6. languages here. Taking their DinoFlex camera in hand, 
  7. they began to explore our planet, recording the way different 
  8. languages express the same common objects.
  9.  
  10. The results of their exploration are recorded in 
  11. EARTHWORDS FOR ALIEN DINOSAURS -- a version specially prepared 
  12. for Earthlings by permission of the Dinopian High Council, and
  13. re-engineered for Earth voltage and PC computers running Windows
  14. by Right to Left Software and Editions Renyi in Toronto.

  17. INSTALLATION

  19. From Windows' Program Manager click the 'File' menu then select
  20. 'Run' and type A:INSTALL.EXE.

  23. HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
  24.  
  25. EARTHWORDS for Windows requires an IBM-compatible PC
  26. running Windows 3.1 or higher with 256 color display.
  27.  
  28. Minimum: 386 CPU with 4 MB RAM.
  29. Recommended: 486 with 8 MB RAM and a Windows compatible sound card.

  32. THIS EVALUATION VERSION
  33.  
  34. This version is a fully functional program, including 4 language
  35. activities with 3 difficulty levels. It contains 10 words in each
  36. of 17 languages, each word with an animated illustration. Voice pronunciation
  37. by native speakers is included for English, French, Spanish, German,
  38. Russian and Japanese. Other languages are in text only.

  40. The program was designed to interest young people in learning a new language,
  41. to let them see how different languages say the same thing, to introduce
  42. foreign characters, and to help with spelling in their own language.

  44. EARTHWORDS is fully customizable, and can be created in almost any
  45. choice of languages the Dinopians have explored.
