  3. A DataBase
  4. ==========
  5. AMFBase is a simple card style database.Each card may have upto ten fields
  6. stored on it.Fields may be defined,and cards sorted,found,updated,etc.
  7.  
  8. Click on the AMFBase icon to start.A window will appear,this is where many
  9. of the operations in AMFBase are carried out from.To define the field names,
  10. click on the Define icon,enter the appropriate names for the field titles,
  11. and click on OK.

  13. You can now enter the data in the boxes provided.Pressing RETURN at the end
  14. of one card will move onto the next.The same effect can be acheived by
  15. clicking on OK.Click on Clear to wipe all the data for a particular card,or
  16. use Cancel to bring it back.Use the arrow icons to move between cards,or
  17. enter a card number in the box provided,and press RETURN.

  19. Insert will insert a card before the current one,and Delete will delete the
  20. current card.Find will allow you to find particular cards.Enter search
  21. strings in the boxes provided,and click on OK.The number of cards found will
  22. appear,and you can go through them by using the arrow icons in the find
  23. window.Sort will allow you to sort the cards in a particular order.Select
  24. a numerical sort if the value of the datum is to be used,otherwise use an
  25. alphabetical sort.Click on OK to sort.

  27. Pressing menu on the AMFBase window will allow you to save the data in three
  28. different ways.You can save all the data,part of the data (either that which
  29. has been found,or a numerical section),or save the data as a text file.If
  30. this is done,you can select which options to include,whether to include the
  31. field title,and how many spaces (if at all) to indent both title and data.

  33. Preferences
  34. ===========
  35. The preferences can be seen by selecting Preferences after pressing menu on
  36. the !AMFBase icon.You can set whether the Delete option needs a confirm,
  37. whether a file is loaded on startup,whether the fields are loaded on start
  38. up,and whether the indentation table (how the data is saved as a text file)
  39. is loaded on start up.You can also determine the maximum number of cards.
