OCR: While logic can seem complicated there are patterns you can learn to recognize. Inductive and deductive reasoning are two of the most common logical approaches With inductive reasoning, you generalize from specific examples. Take the question of whether or not the sun will continue to rise each day. You can predict that the sun will continue to rise because rose yesterday, and the day before that, and so on. Inductive logic tells you So. Deductive logic works the other way, from generalizations to specifics. A simple example might be: Smokers risk developing lung cancer, and Natasha smokes therefore Natasha risks developing lung cancer This argument moves from generalization about smokers and lung cancer to Natasha's specific case genera alize lizations arqument
