  7. This software is Public Domain and can be copied
  8. and distributed freely, provided all the files are
  9. included unchanged.
  10.  
  11. This is just a PD limited version of a full
  12. adventure game, which will be available next October
  13. 1993. It is written using GTAC, which is the main
  14. program that handles datas, objects and characters
  15. in the WIMP RISC OS environment. The adventure
  16. itself is stored in several DATA and DRAW files.
  17.  
  18. This new system allows you to play a complete
  19. adventure game without loosing the friendlyness of
  20. the Acorn Desktop.
  21.  
  22. Double-click on the !Hermes icon to load the program
  23. and install its icon on the iconbar. Click on it
  24. with the left button of the mouse to start the game.
  25.  
  26. Clicking with the middle button recalls a menu,
  27. where you can choose several actions:

  29. SAVE lets you save your current status in order to
  30. restore it later (just drag the saved file icon on
  31. the !Hermes icon to load it back).

  33. GRAPHICS toggles the graphics window ON and OFF. You
  34. can do it as well by clicking on the CLOSE icon on
  35. the graphics window and then clicking with the left
  36. button on the !Hermes icon.

  38. INVENTORY shows what you are carrying at the moment.
  39.  
  40. RESTART lets you start again the adventure from the
  41. beginning, in case you are stuck somewhere and do
  42. not know how to continue.

  44. The INTRO file in the !Hermes directory contains
  45. explanations about the storyline.
  46.  
  47. The REGISTER file contains the registration module:
  48. if you complete it with your details and send it to
  49. me, you will be informed about upgrades of this PD
  50. version and about the full game.
