  10.        This release note describes patch SG0001413 to IRIX 6.2.

  14.        This patch contains bug fixes for InfiniteReality.  The
  15.        software cannot be installed on other configurations.

  20.        This patch contains bug fixes for eoe software on

  27.        PV359464 - blank video in IR textport This patch contains a
  28.        fix for the InfiniteReality textport that would cause it to
  29.        come up with blank video on production hardware.  The bug is
  30.        not fatal, but since the user can't see what's going on, it
  31.        makes the system very difficult to use until the X server
  32.        starts up.  Because this fix was applied to all machines
  33.        before they shipped, you should only need this patch if
  34.        you're forced to re-install 6.2 eoe from scratch.

  36.        The patch re-flashes an EEPROM on the InfiniteReality board
  37.        that is used to display the textport.
  38.  
  39.        PV363854 - certain DG4 boards' DACs do not get initialized
  40.        correctly When a machine is power-cycled while warm, a small
  41.        percentage of InfiniteReality DG4 boards may not initialize
  42.        the DACs correctly, so video comes up scrambled.  The change
  43.        is to both textport and operational ucode.

  45.        PV361565 - Sirius may not be detected (by ircombine and
  46.        others)

  80.        was not as good as it could have been. This gets it up to 32

  83.        PV373067 - InfiniteReality graphics may hang during
  84.        shutdown/reboot.  Fixed.

  86.        PV351992 - The pixel throughput has been improved and
  87.        170Mb/sec has been measured.

  89.        There is a rare graphics hang caused by strided pixel DMAs
  90.        that is fixed in patch 1413.  In relation to this, some of
  91.        the DMA vs. PIO tuning constants have been updated so
  92.        performance is maintained or increased in most cases.

  94.        The only fix for patch1413 over patch1301 is a refix of the
  95.        hang-on-shutdown problem (PV373067).  1301 fixed the problem
  96.        but caused a rare, but more severe, PANIC in some cases on
  97.        IP25.

  99.        Patch 1413 obsoletes and replaces patches 1197, 1252, and
  100.        1301.

  112.        you have encountered, patch software is not installed by
  113.        default.  After reading the descriptions of the bugs fixed
  114.        in this patch (see Section 1.3), determine the patches that
  115.        meet your specific needs.

  117.        If, after reading Sections 1.1 and 1.2 of these release
  118.        notes, you are unsure whether your hardware and software
  119.        meet the requirements for installing a particular patch, run
  120.        _i_n_s_t.  The _i_n_s_t program does not allow you to install
  121.        patches that are incompatible with your hardware or
  122.        software.

  140.        Patch software is installed like any other Silicon Graphics
  141.        software product.  Follow the instructions in your _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e
  142.        _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _A_d_m_i_n_i_s_t_r_a_t_o_r'_s _G_u_i_d_e to bring up the miniroot
  143.        form of the software installation tools.

  145.        Follow these steps to select a patch for installation:

  147.          1.  At the Inst> prompt, type
