  11.        The License Tools (_l_i_c_e_n_s_e__e_o_e) product contains tools which
  12.        support the installation and management of software
  13.        licenses.  It includes a tool for installing and managing
  14.        software licenses, which can be run interactively or
  15.        automatically.  This product should be installed on systems
  16.        running licensed applications.

  18.        There are two software licensing systems: FLEXlm, the de
  19.        facto standard in license management in the UNIX software
  20.        industry, and NetLS (Network License System).  Both the
  21.        FLEXlm and NetLS systems support node-locked licenses
  22.        (licenses which are specific to one machine) and network
  23.        (floating or concurrent) licenses.

  25.        A program which has been software-licensed requests a
  26.        license when invoked; if none is available, the program does
  27.        not execute.  A software license is represented as a coded
  28.        text string which can be installed to enable a licensed
  29.        application to run on a target host.
