  137.        2.5  _C_o_n_f_i_g_u_r_a_t_i_o_n__F_i_l_e_s

  140.        GoldenGate uses a configuration file,
  141.        /etc/ConverterRegistry.  This is an ASCII file containing an
  142.        entry for each GoldenGate data converter installed on the
  143.        system (the definition of installed is that it has an entry
  144.        in this registry).  The GoldenGate library functions consult
  145.        this registry at run time to locate converters that can be
  146.        invoked on behalf of applications.  The converters
  147.        themselves reside in Dynamic Shared Object libraries (DSOs),
  148.        which can be anywhere on the system.
  149.  
  150.        The default /etc/ConverterRegistry file provides access to a
  151.        large selection of image, audio, movie and 3-D graphics file
  152.        format converters, all of which reside in the DSO
  153.        /usr/lib/convert/libcvt_SGI.so.

  155.        Privileged users may edit this file to add support for new
  156.        converters.  More information, together with a description
  157.        of the converter definition syntax used in this file, is
  158.        available in the GoldenGate chapter in the Indigo Magic
  159.        Desktop Integration Guide.
