_s_c_a_n_n_e_r_s is a graphical tool for displaying, installing, and deleting
scanners. _s_c_a_n_n_e_r_s' main window displays the list of currently installed
scanners, and also shows the default system scanner. The "Scanner" menu
has commands for installing and deleting scanners. Double-clicking on a
scanner in the list, or using the OOOOppppeeeennnn............ command on the "Scanner" menu,
brings up _g_s_c_a_n(1) on the selected scanner.
Refer to the online help, accessible through the "Help" menu, or the
_I_m_p_r_e_s_s_a_r_i_o _U_s_e_r'_s _G_u_i_d_e, for more details on how to use _s_c_a_n_n_e_r_s.
_s_c_a_n_n_e_r_s gets its list of scanner types by running each scanner driver
that it finds in the directory /_u_s_r/_l_i_b/_s_c_a_n/_d_r_v with the ----qqqquuuueeeerrrryyyy option.
When a scanner is installed, _s_c_a_n_n_e_r_s looks for an options program with
the same base name as the driver in the directory /_u_s_r/_l_i_b/_s_c_a_n/_o_p_t.
_s_c_a_n_n_e_r_s maintains its list of installed scanners in the file
/_u_s_r/_l_i_b/_s_c_a_n/_s_c_a_n_n_e_r_s, and it stores the name of the default scanner in
the file /_u_s_r/_l_i_b/_s_c_a_n/_d_e_f_a_u_l_t.
