  7.      Thank you for downloading Tunes!  Tunes opens up an
  8.      entirely new dimension to computer music and MIDI
  9.      enthusiasts.  Tunes enhances traditional guitar and
  10.      keyboard music theory with an entertaining new
  11.      audio/visual approach on your IBM PC or PS/2.

  13.      Imagine having every note of a difficult guitar riff or
  14.      rhythm playing before your eyes using Tunes' on-screen
  15.      guitar!  Or how about just stepping slowly through a
  16.      classical piano piece one note at a time, forward and
  17.      backward, for a more in-depth study.  These are just a
  18.      few of the incredible new features found in Tunes
  19.      version 3.0!

  21.      With an optional Roland MPU-401 interface, you can
  22.      create your own compositions using the software's
  23.      built-in 64 track sequencer.  Since the program
  24.      supports standard MIDI files, you can share songs with

  27.      different chord and scale charts with just a click of

  82.           program can convert all the MIDI values and events
  83.           in any standard MIDI file into an easily
  84.           understood text (ASCII) format which can be viewed
  85.           or modified using your favorite text editor.
  86.           After the file has been modified, Midi Explorer
  87.           can convert it back into a standard MIDI file!
  88.           You can even integrate your favorite editor with
  89.           Midi Explorer so that you never have to exit the
  90.           program in order to edit a text file.

  93.           latest, feature-packed version of Tunes!  Due to
  94.           the costs involved in uploading new versions of
  95.           Tunes to the many on-line services and computer
  96.           BBS's across the country, the most recent version

  98.           for downloading electronically.  Choose this bonus

  124. Installation of Tunes

  127.      Tunes includes an installation program which will
  128.      install Tunes to your fixed disk and customize
  129.      TUNES.PRO to match your computer system.  Use the
  130.      following procedure to install Tunes from diskette:

  132.        1. Insert the Tunes diskette in drive A.
  133.        
  134.        2. Type A:INSTALL  A:  C:\TUNES
  135.        
  136.      If you have not used INSTALL to copy the Tunes files to
  137.      your fixed disk, make sure you are using the correct
  138.      TUNES.PRO.  For computers with color monitors, copy
  139.      COLOR.PRO to TUNES.PRO.  For computers with monochrome
  140.      monitors, copy MONO.PRO to TUNES.PRO.

  143. Printing the Tunes User's Manual
  144. --------------------------------

  146.      The Tunes User's Manual, TUNES.PRT, is supplied as a
  147.      plain text (ASCII) file with this package.  This text
  148.      file contains no special formatting codes or characters
  149.      and can be printed on most types of computer printers
  150.      using the DOS PRINT command.  A professionally printed
  151.      and bound version of the Tunes User's Manual is
  152.      available for only $10 and offers high quality printing
  153.      and improved readability over the softcopy manual.  To
  154.      order your copy of the Tunes User's Manual, use the
  155.      registration form, REGISTER.PRT, included with this
  156.      package.

  159. Distributing Tunes
  160. ------------------

  162.      I have made the Tunes software available as shareware and
  163.      encourage you to freely copy and distribute Tunes according
  164.      to the following distribution provisions:

  166.        1) The Tunes package is shareware and it must be
  167.           listed/categorized as such in all distribution
  168.           advertisements and documents.  The Tunes package
  169.           must not be categorized as public domain or
  170.           freeware.

  172.        2) The Tunes package may not be sold or leased under
  173.           any circumstances.  Shareware distributors may
  174.           charge a reasonable distribution fee for this
  175.           software.  Distributors must not represent that
  176.           they are selling the software itself.  Please
  177.           ensure that customers understand the difference
  178.           between a distribution fee and a registration fee.

  180.        3) The Tunes package consists of all files listed in
  181.           the PACKING.PRT file.  If any files listed in
  182.           PACKING.PRT are missing or if PACKING.PRT is
  183.           missing, then the Tunes package is not complete
