  19. Description of Working Group:
  20. There is a need for many different kinds of efforts to deal with
  21. operational and front line engineering issues, including helping the
  22. disparate organizations work with each other.  This is an attempt to
  23. solidify some of those topics.  This does not make any pretense of being
  24. exhaustive.
  25.  
  26. Area of interest:  Operational issues and developments of the Internet.
  27.  
  28. Membership:  Operations and engineering personnel from national backbone
  29. and mid-level networks.  Other groups with responsibility for production
  30. oriented services such as security oriented groups.
  31.  
  32. Associated Technical groups:  Groups which will have an interest in, and
  33. input to the Agenda of this Group will include the IAB and its task
  34. forces, and groups within FARNET. In particular FARNET has now several
  35. technical issues of concern, such as the selection of standard
  36. inter-network services for debugging (like maps and standard SNMP
  37. communities), and the specification of standard network statistics to be
  38. taken (of special concern is the ubiquitous ability to collect those
  39. statistics).

  41. Meeting Times:  Members of the Group will represent organizations with
  42. production responsiblities.  Most work will be carried on via email or
  43. teleconferencing.
