  8. Minutes of the FDDI MIB Working Group (FDDIMIB)
  9.  
  10. The FDDI MIB Working Group met on November 19, 1992 in Washington, D.C.
  11. This being the second meeting of the Group after a lengthy hiatus, the
  12. Chair invested the time to introduce the goals and for participants to
  13. introduce themselves to one another.  The Agenda for the meeting was
  14. reviewed and adopted.  The roster was circulated.
  15.  
  16. A brief report was received on the standardization status of SMT 7.2
  17. within ANSI. Finalization is expected soon.
  18.  
  19. The current draft was introduced, including the algorithms used for
  20. object inclusion and exclusion and the algorithms used for transforming
  21. objects between GDMO and the SNMP/SMI concise MIB format.
  22.  
  23. The identified issues were discussed in turn:

  26.    o PATHConfiguration
  27.      The Group agreed that the inclusion of the PATHConfiguration
  28.      information objects is desirable, given the relative costs and
  29.      benefits.  The Group discussed two proposals that have been
  30.      advanced, one from Anil and one from Sal.  The editor was directed
  31.      to incorporate the PATHConfiguration information in the next draft
  32.      based on Sal's suggested table format.
  33.  
  34.    o FddiTime
  35.      The Group agreed to express FddiTime as a positive integer in 1
  36.      nanosecond units.  The editor was directed to include a complete,
  37.      appropriate, example to eliminate the confusion surrounding two's
  38.      complement.

  40.    o Timestamp
  41.      The Group agreed to rescale Timestamp to express it in 1
  42.      millisecond units.
  43.  
  44.    o Correction of Equations and Relationships
  45.      This is no longer a problem thanks to the assistance of Floyd Ross,
  46.      who was able to supply machine readable text that could be
  47.      successfully imported by the document's editor.
  48.  
  49.    o SMT <-> SNMP Index Mappings
  50.      The Group was pleased with the current draft which includes sparse
  51.      mappings of the index values to match SMT.
  52.

  54. The editor was directed to prepare a new draft to reflect these
  55. decisions and to have it posted to the internet-drafts directories.

  64. design work is completed.
