  15.                     Beware the NCP, and shun
  16.                          the frumious system patch,

  18.                     He took his coding pad in hand;
  19.                          Long time the Echo-plex he sought.
  20.                     When his HOST-to-IMP began to limp
  21.                          he stood a while in thought,

  23.                     And while he stood, in uffish thought,
  24.                          The ARPANET, with IMPish bent,
  25.                     Sent packets through conditioned lines,
  26.                          And checked them as they went,

  28.                     One-two, one-two, and through and through
  29.                          The IMP-to-IMP went ACK and NACK,
  30.                     When the RFNM came, he said "I'm game",
  31.                          And sent the answer back,
