  12. Dear Members of the Advisory Council -
  13.      
  14. As we discussed in Montreal, there are two vacancies for Council 
  15. Officers to be filled.
  16.      
  17. I am pleased to report that the following members have indicated 
  18. their willingness to serve. OF COURSE, OTHER NOMINEES WOULD BE 
  19. WELCOME TOO:
  20.      
  21.      - Prof.Dr. Srisakdi Charmonman; Thailand; Assumption
  22.        University
  23.      
  24.      - Micheal E.Conn;               USA; MCI Corp.
  25.      
  26.      - Ole J. Jacobsen;              USA; InterOp Company
  27.      
  28.      - Stefano Trumpy;               Italy, CNUCE  
  29.      
  30. Accordingly we will need  conduct an election as we did in 
  31. 1994, via Email, with weighted voting - two votes per member 
  32. organization.
  33.      
  34. I propose the following procedure and schedule:
  35.      
  36.      - 15 Nov:  Nominations closed. Each candidate submit short
  37.                 CV and statement.
  38.      
  39.      - 18 Nov:  Call for votes by ISOC Staff
  40.      
  41.      - 30 Nov:  Voting Closed
  42.      
  43.      - 02 Dec:  ISOC staff announce selections
  44.      
  45. [wk] - 09 Dec:  New Officers seated at the December Council and 
  46.                 Board of Trustees Meetings
  47.      
  48. As of the December meeting, the Chair will also rotate to Nick 
  49. Trio, USA; IBM Corp.
  50.      
  51. Without objection, I propose we proceed according to the above.
