  15. Internet Society Advisory Council (ISOC AC) Officer meeting

  19. For the sake of brevity, this message lists the recommendations made during the
  20. first meeting of the recently elected ISOC AC officers.  A subsequent message
  21. will contain the minutes of the meeting.  Present at the meeting were...

  30. Resolutions:
  31.  
  32. 1. A draft charter for the Advisory Council will be distributed
  33.    for comment.
  34. 2. The ISOC AC officers shall serve for a term of 3 years, after
  35.    which they are not eligible to serve for a consecutive term.
  36.    After a hiatus of one term, however, they are eligible to serve
  37.    again.
  38. 3. The officers shall not bear titles (i.e., no Chair, Vice-Chair,
  39.    etc.).
  40. 4. Request the Board of Trustees (BOT) to modify the bylaws to
  41.    seat the four officers of AC as voting members of the BOT.
  42. 5. Recommend that the special status of the Charter ISOC Members be
  43.    revoked, while recognizing their contribution.
  44. 6. Funding for administrative tasks for the Internet presently
  45.    comes from multiple sources to multiple destinations.  For
  46.    better coordination and to establish the role of the ISOC, this
  47.    funding should be channeled through the ISOC.
  48. 7. Tony Rutkowski will coordinate Birds of a Feather (BOF) session
  49.    for the ISOC AC at the next IETF.
  50.  
  51. Recommendation #4 supersedes the following two recommendations made during
  52. the previous ISOC AC meeting:
  53.  
  54. 1.  Recommend that the ISOC AC be allowed to seat one third (1/3) of the
  55.     positions on the ISOC BOT.
  56.  
  57. 2.  Recommend that the ISOC AC appoint four ex-officio (non-voting)
  58.     liaison members to the BOT and request that the BOT appoint one or
  59.     more return liaison(s) to the ISOC AC.
