  2.   About the Resources Area

  5. The Internet, once highly oriented towards technical information, has 
  6. become as broad in scope as a library.  Unfortunately, finding information
  7. on a particular subject can still be frustrating.  The purpose of this
  8. directory is to organize the most helpful documentation and the most
  9. extensive repositories of information in one place.  
  10.  
  11. There are already many subject-oriented centers that endeavor to 
  12. include pointers to all the information that exists on a particular 
  13. subject, and we have included pointers to some of those sites (see
  14. "Other Subject-Oriented Gopher Sites").  The InfoGuide is intended to 
  15. include only the best and most useful sites and documents.  When 
  16. confronted with a list of several hundred sources of information on 
  17. a subject, it is a difficult task to know where to start.  We hope 
  18. the InfoGuide will make that task easier.

  20. It requires constant vigilance to keep subject-oriented information
  21. current, and we greatly appreciate the help of our users.  If you have 
  22. any suggestions for the existing subject areas, or ideas for new ones,
