Minutes
-------
1. The minutes of the December 19 teleconference were approved. Steve
to place in Shadow directories.
2. The IESG had no problem with the publication of Ascend Tunnel
Management Protocol - ATMP <draft-rfced-info-hamzeh-00.txt> as an
Informational RFC. The IESG felt that an IESG note indicating that
similar efforts are underway was needed, and Jeff is to provide the
actual text of the note. When received, Steve will send note to RFC
Editors.
3. Steve was asked to send note to the IANA asking if republishing the
Radius documents with the different port numbers was possible The
RFCs contain port numbers that are different from the ones used by
various implementations.
4. Allyn lost 5 points for hitting the speed dial button during the
telechat.
5. The IESG discussed the lack of interactions with the current
NOMCOMM, concluding that it was not a good thing. Scott proposed
that he, on behalf of the IESG, draft a note to the Nomcomm
conveying this concern.
6. The IESG asked the Secretariat to begin scheduling 8 simultaneous
sessions at IETF meetings. Other meeting related directions
included:
a. ALL requests for BOFs must be accompanied by BOF Description and
Agenda, and the relevant Area Directors must be copied. The
Secretariat should ONLY schedule complete requests (pending AD
approval)
b. The Secretariat should give preference to IETF WGs when
assigning meeting slots during the day (i.e. BOFs should be
scheduled in evening sessions whenever possible).
c. As an experiment, Wednesday in Memphis will be made up of
hour-long slots (to accommodate short meetings - groups needing
long/normal meeting duration will request two contiguous slots.
7. Steve announced that the cut-off for scheduling meeting slots will
be strictly enforced, and that no late requests will be considered.
The IESG began howling and laughing.
