CURRENT_MEETING_REPORT_
Reported by Kaj Tesink/Bellcore
Minutes of the AToM MIB Working Group (ATOMMIB)
The AToM MIB Working Group met during two days in Stockholm. The
following topics were discussed:
o Supplemental ATM MIB
o Implementation feedback RFC 1695
o Implementation feedback ATMForum ILMI
o Implementation feedback RFC 1595
Supplemental ATM MIB
Mike Noto presented the issues list on this MIB. Many issues were
resolved. The revised issues list will be posted to the mailing list.
A revised draft will be posted to the list as well. The objective is to
have a mature draft before the Dallas meeting and to resolve any
remaining issues there. A draft ATM textual conventions (ATMTC) MIB was
posted for use by other ATM MIBs.
Implementation Feedback RFC 1695
Seven implementation reports have been received covering over a dozen
implementations both for managers and for agents. The feedback produced
some issues, but at first glance no major issues. Based on the
feedback, the working group decided to work towards advancement of
RFC 1695 to Draft Standard status. The issues list will be posted and
discussed on the mailing list. The implementation feedback summary will
be posted as well.
Implementation Feedback ATMForum ILMI
Eight implementation reports were received on the ILMI. The ILMI is
relevant to RFC 1695 because of its overlapping MIB structure and
complementary role relative to RFC 1695. The feedback summary will be
posted to the mailing list.
Implementation Feedback RFC 1595
No formal call for implementation experience has been done for RFC 1595
(SONET MIB) yet. This is expected in the coming months. Issues have
been identified, also based on parallel work in the TRUNKMIB Working
Group. The issues list will be posted to the mailing list. The goal is
to wrap up work on these issues before the Dallas meeting to facilitate
potential progression on the specification to Draft Standard after that
meeting.
