DESCRIPTION:
Identify areas within Internet effected by NATs and propose guidelines
and/or solutions to deal with the issues.
AGENDA:
1. An overall framework document on what the NAT work group should
work towards. The document will cover issues such as
(a) what is NAT, how NAT works and (b) how NAT impacts other
applications, protocols & concepts.
2. Application of NATs in load sharing.
3. NAT friendly application design guidelines.
4. Best Current Practices for NAT implementation, operation, debugging
and trouble shooting.
5. Address problems with NATs with regard to IP multicast applications.
6. Address Network management of NATs and nodes administered by NATs.
7. Role of NATs in the context of Fast IP, IP mobility, IP security
and roaming nodes.
8. Interaction of NATs and NAT managed hosts with DNS.
NATs as a tool to bridge between different routing realms.
