  25. Description of Working Group:

  27. This working group was chartered to extend the RFC 822 message format to
  28. facilitate multi-media mail and alternate character sets.  RFCs 1341
  29. and RFC 1342 document the Multi-Media Extensions for Internet Mail.
  30.  
  31. The working group will work to progress MIME to Draft Standard status
  32. and provide a forum for the review of standards track content-type
  33. specifications and the review of character set extensions to MIME.
  34.  
  35.  Goals and Milestones: 
  36.  
  37.      Done       Discuss, debate, and choose a framework for the solution.      
  38.                 Assign writing assignments, and identify issues to be resolved.
  39.  
  40.      Done       Review the Charter, and refine the Group's focus. Decide 
  41.                 whether this is a worthwhile effort.

  43.      Done       Review exiting writing, resolve outstanding issues, identify   
  44.                 new work, and work toward a complete document.

  46.      Done       Post a first Internet-Draft.

  48.      Done       Review and finalize the draft document.

  50.      Done       Submit the document as a Proposed Standard.
