  38.  1. The minutes of the IESG teleconference on September 5 were
  39.     approved. Steve to place in IETF shadow directories.
  40.  
  41.  2. The IESG approved publication of IMAP/POP AUTHorize Extension for
  42.     Simple Challenge/Response <draft-klensin-cram-02.txt> as a Proposed
  43.     Standard. However, as it is dependent on HMAC-IP Authentication
  44.     with Replay Prevention <draft-ietf-ipsec-hmac-md5-00.txt>, the
  45.     announcement will not be sent until the hmac document is approved.

  47.  3. The IESG approved publication of The Model Primary Content Type for
  48.     MIME <draft-nelson-model-mail-ext-05.txt> as a Proposed Standard.

  51.  4. The IESG approved publication of Definition of X.500 Attribute
  52.     Types and an Object Class to Hold Uniform Resource Identifiers
  53.     (URIs) <draft-ietf-asid-x500-url-03.txt> as a Proposed Standard.

  56.  5. The IESG approved publication of IRTF Research Group Guidelines and
  57.     Procedures <draft-weinrib-irtf-guidelines-00.txt> as a BCP. Steve
  58.     to send announcement.

  60.  6. There was some discussion on the IESG note which was included in
  61.     the Protocol Action announcement for the Hubbard document. It was
  62.     suggested that the text be rephrased. Allison to provide text to
  63.     serve as a starting point. Steve will send a note to RFC Editor
  64.     requesting they not publish until the discussions are concluded.

  66.  7. The IESG approved the formation of the Uniform Resource Names WG
  67.     (urn) in the Applications Area.

  69.  8. The IESG approved the formation of the IP over Cable Data Network
  70.     WG (ipcdn) in the Internet Area.

  72.  9. The IESG approved publication of Mobility Support for Nimrod:
  73.     Requirements and Solution Approaches
  74.     <draft-ietf-nimrod-mobility-02.txt,.ps> as an Informational RFC,
  75.     but noted that the title needs to be changed (the word Requirements
  76.     not permitted in Informational RFCs). As Joel was not able to
  77.     particiapte in the call, Steve will work with him off-line.

  79. 10. The IESG approved publication of Multicast Support for Nimrod:
  80.      Requirements and Solution Approaches
  81.     <draft-ietf-nimrod-multicast-02.txt,.ps> as an Informational RFC,
  82.     but noted that the title needs to be changed (the word Requirements
  83.     not permitted in Informational RFCs). As Joel was not able to
  84.     particiapte in the call, Steve will work with him off-line.

  86. 11. The IESG approved publication of Network Renumbering Overview
  87.     <draft-ietf-pier-renum-ovrvw-02.txt> as an Informational RFC. Steve
  88.     to send announcement.

  90. 12. The IESG had no problem with the publication of Mapping SNMPv2 onto
  91.     SNMPv1 within a bi-lingual SNMP agent
  92.     <draft-rfced-info-wijnen-00.txt> as an Informational RFC. Steve to
  93.     send note to RFC Editor.

  95. 13. Action on IP Echo Host Service <draft-rfced-exp-partridge-00.txt>
  96.     was deferred to give time for Jeff Schiller to review from a security
  97.     perspective.

  99. 14. Steve reported that the WG Training session will be permanently
  100.     rescheduled to Monday noon at IETF meetings. As an experiment, box
  101.     lunches will be made available. To avoid 600 potential WG chairs,
  102.     this will be limited to existing WG Chairs, BOF chairs, and
  103.     potential chairs recommended by IESG members who reserve a lunch in
  104.     advance.
