  40.  1. The IESG approved the minutes from the August 17 teleconference.

  43.  2. The IESG had no problem with the publication of the Addendum to
  44.     RFC1602 - Variance Procedure <draft-postel-variance-00.txt> as an
  45.     Informational RFC, but the final decision was deferred as the
  46.     meeting with the legal reviewer was scheduled for the next day.

  48.  3. The IESG had no problem with the publication of The Opstat
  49.     Client-Server Model for Statistics Retrieval
  50.     <draft-ietf-opstat-client-server-03.txt> as an Informational RFC.

  53.  4. The IESG had no problem with the publication of A Model for Common
  54.     Operational Statistics <draft-ietf-opstat-oper-model-01.txt> as an

  57.  5. The IESG approved the publication of SMTP Service Extension for
  58.     Checkpoint/Restart <draft-ietf-mailext-checkp-02.txt> as an
  59.     Experimental Protocol. Coya to send announcement.

  61.  6. The IESG approved the publication of SMTP 521 reply code
  62.     <draft-ietf-mailext-smtp-521-04.txt> as an Experimental Protocol.

  65.  7. The IESG had no problem with the publication of IP Authentication
  66.     using Keyed SHA as an Experimental Protocol.

  68.  8. The IESG had no problem with the publication of The ESP Triple DES

  71.  9. The IESG wants to add text to the IP in IP Tunnelling document
  72.     clearing stating that this is an individual submission, and that
  73.     there is similar work being done in the IETF. Joel was assigned the
  74.     task of writing the IESG text.

  76. 10. The IESG briefly discussed the idea of moderated Working Group
  77.     mailing lists. The overwhelming consensus was against the notion of
  78.     moderated lists.

  80. 11. The IESG also discussed the file names for Internet-Drafts, a topic
  81.     currently being discussed (or the subject of messages) in the
  82.     Poised mailing list. All IESG members reiterated the long-standing
  83.     understanding that I-Ds named as draft-ietf-wgacronym-whatever
  84.     where considered to be products of the working group, and that
  85.     draft-authorname-whatever were individual submissions (and there is
  86.     nothing to prevent an individual submission from becoming a WG
  87.     effort).

  89.     The IESG also felt that it was not that important a topic, and the
  90.     naming could be changed. Scott volunteered to draft a message from
  91.     the IESG to either the Poised working group, or perhaps just to
  92.     CIDRD (the source of the most current debate).
