  81.         newsgroup.  if you wish to post, you are welcome to do

  87.     in order to fertilize synthesis and create an educational

  90.     shall also include derived discussion which grow in 
  91.     response to such a fertilization and consortium.

  95.     alt.magick.tyagi (AMT) is the synthesis of meta-knowledge
  96.     in the fields of magick and mysticism within the Usenet 
  97.     internet forum structure:

  105.         the newsgroup is a forum designed to fulfill its Charter (01),
  106.     an educational mechanism and forum of cross-fertilization of
  107.     meta-knowledge within the fields of magick and mysticism.
  108.         access to esoteric information to those who diligently seek 
  109.     it, without restriction, integrating the various disciplines
  110.     and weaving a web of vivifying communication amongst a 
  111.     diversity of global culture.  it is an attempt to utilize 
  112.     Usenet as a thinktank and reference engine.

  118.         found in the various Internet archives, of interest to mages
  119.         and mystics, including other alt.magick.* groups, alt.pagan.magick,

  121.         talk.religion.*, and any other religious, magical, mystical or
  122.         miscellaneous group which qualifies.

  130.         complicated conversations, philosophical exchanges, regarding
  131.         magick, mysticism and associated subjects that often annoy regular

  137.         there shall be no restrictions as to *who* is allowed to post
  138.         to the group and yet the group's parameters are clearly stated
  139.         herein.

  141.         AMT can be used for this purpose, exposing the commonality
  142.         of subjects and patterns within them to the many readers who
  143.         will almost certainly prove amateur in all.

  145.         overall, post in a manner which serves the Purpose (02) of the
  146.         newsgroup.  AMT was created to address a specific need.  posts 
  147.     made to it should generally be of three types:

  149.         1) REPOSTS
  150.         these should be the most common seed fodder.  their function
  151.         is to make accessible articles from other newsgroups which
  152.         could be of interest to mages who don't have the time or
  153.         incentive to read *every* group which is relevant to their
  154.         field.  they can also be used to expose the post to newsgroups
  155.         which were pertinent but not originally within the header.
  156.         Followups to all relevant forums are fruitfully specified.

  158.         2) XPOSTING
  159.         these should used subtlely to join disparate disciplines
  160.         when contributing articles which apply to their intersection
  161.         or when a particular post within any newsgroup would likely
  162.         be of interest to those whose studies include the subject of
  163.         magick or mysticism.

  165.         3) DISCUSSION
  166.         discussion subsequent to posted articles should be less common
  167.         and determined by interest and quality of the posts to which
  168.         response is given.  humor and quips should be minimized, or
  169.         utilized to effectively place in contrast the overseriousness
  170.         of the author to whom one replies.

  192.                  "alt.magick.tyagi" and any other applicable

  194.          use the address given in the automatic

  246.         alt.magick.chaos is a forum which often contains posts and 
  247.     discussion on chaos and chaos magick as understood by its 
  248.     regular posters.

  250.         alt.magick.tantra was started as an alternative to the glutted
  251.         alt.magick.sex, and includes posts regarding tantra, taoist
  252.         sexual alchemy and sex magick.

  255.         frustration at the volume and noise/signal ratio within
  256.         alt.magick, and are being utilized to divide up the various
  257.         areas of interest that collide in the hub group.

  273.         the word 'tyagi' is Sanskrit (East Indian) and can be
  274.         literally translated as 'monk' or 'one who renounces (or 
  275.     sacrifices) all'.  in this way the newsgroup name symbolizes
  276.         the fusion of magick and mysticism through the combination
  277.         of terms, and provides a kind of arena in which writings of
  278.         a decidedly esoteric nature may be drawn together, compared,
  279.         contrasted and fused into a cybernetic Hieros Gamos.
