  19. This document describes a MAPOS version 1 extension, SSP (Switch
  20. Switch Protocol).  MAPOS is a multiple access protocol for
  21. transmission of network-protocol packets, encapsulated in High-Level
  22. Data Link Control (HDLC) frames, over SONET/SDH. In MAPOS network, a
  23. SONET switch provides the multiple access capability to end nodes.
  24. SSP is a protocol of Distance Vector family and provides unicast and
  25. broadcast/multicast routing for multiple SONET switch environment.

  28. does not specify an Internet standard of any kind.  Distribution of
