  19. Many modern IP security systems (also called "firewalls" in the trade)
  20. make use of proxy technology to achieve access control.  This document
  21. explains "classical" and "transparent" proxy techniques and attempts
  22. to provide rules to help determine when each proxy system may be used
  23. without causing problems.

  25. This memo provides information for the Internet community.  This memo
  26. does not specify an Internet standard of any kind.  Distribution of
  27. this memo is unlimited.
