  19. This memo describes errors often found in both the operation of Domain
  20. Name System (DNS) servers, and in the data that these DNS servers
  21. contain.  This memo tries to summarize current Internet requirements
  22. as well as common practice in the operation and configuration of the
  23. DNS.  This memo also tries to summarize or expand upon issues raised
  24. in RFC 1537.

  26. This memo provides information for the Internet community.  This memo
  27. does not specify an Internet standard of any kind.  Distribution of
  28. this memo is unlimited.

  30. This announcement is sent to the IETF list and the RFC-DIST list.
