  20. The Service Location Protocol provides a scalable framework for
  21. the discovery and selection of network services.  Using this
  22. protocol, computers using the Internet no longer need so much static
  23. configuration of network services for network based applications. This
  24. document is a product of the Service Location Protocol Working Group
  25. of the IETF.

  27. This is now a Proposed Standard Protocol.
  28.  
  29. This document specifies an Internet standards track protocol for the
  30. Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions for
  31. improvements.  Please refer to the current edition of the "Internet
  32. Official Protocol Standards" (STD 1) for the standardization state and
  33. status of this protocol.  Distribution of this memo is unlimited.
